In an evening of celebration, whilst graduating with the coveted CertBALM qualification, Michael Kozlowski, Balance Sheet Strategist at Yorkshire Building Society also won the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.

This marks the first time the award has been won by a building society student, and is a testament to the hard work and dedication Michael committed to the programme.

The honours degree-level qualification, headed by ALMA, provides a benchmark in asset and liability management. It is aimed at people working in the bank and building society sector: specifically those in treasury, balance sheet management, asset and liability management, risk and finance departments.

Michael commented on his graduation: “It was great to make new professional connections and catch-up with the rest of my cohort.

“In terms of the qualification, I have found it very relevant to my day-to-day job and it has helped me appreciate the ‘bigger picture’, it is hard-work but rewarding.”

Over 200 hours’ of study is required to complete the demanding course, so Michael’s award is very well deserved and we look forward to seeing how both he and the programme progresses in the coming years. Congratulations!
